Bird watching binoculars have long been a much used tool by naturalists and other such people but increasingly regular consumers who happen to have an interest in ornithology are buying them too.
And according to an article on TravelBite.co.uk, anyone heading to the Faroe Islands should take such binoculars with them.
The news source noted that the archipelago of isles, which is situated approximately half way between Great Britain and Iceland, is the "ideal destination for nature lovers to take a break".
According to the website, there are around 300 species of feathered creatures that visit the island chain every year, with many of them using the area as a convenient place to stop during their migration or as a breeding ground.
The news provider stated: "If you are intending to take Faroe Island holidays then binoculars should certainly be on your packing list!"
It added: "Kittiwakes, puffins and guillemots are among the nesting birds that can be seen here during the summer months and on the island of Mykines, you will find a particularly spectacular resident."
The website went on to remark: "During your tailor made holidays, you should ensure that you take a trip to this isle as you will find nesting gannets here."
According to TravelBite.co.uk, these creatures are "sleek and beautiful" and can often be seen diving into the ocean to catch fish to eat.
It went on to note: "Watching gannets dropping at high speeds from the sky to disappear into the ocean and return with a beak full of fish could absorb hours of your time."
Of course, people do not have to go so far afield to make use of their bird watching binoculars. It is possible to spot such flying animals in their back gardens, local parks and nearby countryside, among other places.
